Tsing Tao Pearl Hill Visitor Center is Honored with Ron Thom Award

The Tsing Tao Pearl Hill Visitor Center in Qingdao China was awarded this week with the Ron Thom Award at this years Wood Design Award.

The Canadian Wood Council describes the award as “a prestigious award rarely granted by the Canadian Wood Council. The Ron Thom award is presented to an architect and their body of works that demonstrate outstanding creative talent and exemplary architectural design”.

This exceptional project completed a mere 234 days in 2013 is part of a recent multinational collaboration to reintroduce wood construction through innovative modern buidlings to represent a new generation of Chinese Architecture and culture.
