Kicking Horse and Skyline Residence win Merit Awards from Residential Architect
The Kicking Horse Residence is situated at the base of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, in the city of Golden, British Columbia. This 3,500 sq. ft. residence is a weekend gathering place for an active family of five and its cantilevered forms respond to the topography of its setting.
The Skyline residence was designed for a young family of five and appears as a delicate stripe across the horizon. Sited at the edge of an escarpment on a sparsely forested plateau near Bend, Oregon, the slender building is oriented toward uninterrupted western views of the Cascade Mountains.
