The Wilkinson Building, Pratt School of Engineering, Duke University

Durham, NC

1 / 7

The new building for Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University will foster a spirit of invention by integrating a community of research neighborhoods with undergraduate study. Undergraduate active learning classrooms, maker spaces, and an entrepreneurship center are enlivened by transparency, clear circulation paths, and open, dynamic gathering spaces.

Located on a constrained site between the Historic West Campus Quad and newer structures for Pratt and the Campus Library system, the site design includes a working maker courtyard for assembly, demonstration, and display of student projects.
