The Individual and the Spirit of Innovation
Attendees at the upcoming Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy conference, “The Individual and the Spirit of Innovation,” will have the opportunity to tour the BCJ-designed dwellings at High Meadow and Barn at Fallingwater.
“The Individual and the Spirit of Innovation,” taking place in Pittsburgh September 17-21, will examine how personal vision and entrepreneurial ingenuity intersect with community-building and the evolution of the built environment. Participants will learn from preservationists, stewards of Wright-designed buildings, architects, scholars, and restoration specialists from around the world. Attendees will also have exclusive access to regional projects, including guided tours of the High Meadow Dwellings at Fallingwater and Barn at Fallingwater.
Located on a historic farm adjacent to Frank Lloyd Wright’s renowned Fallingwater residence, High Meadow’s four modest dwellings and a nearby studio serve as home base and workshop for students of Fallingwater Institute’s summer residency programs in architecture, art, and design. The Barn at Fallingwater repurposes a 19th century bank barn, with its 20th century dairy addition and silo that had long since been decommissioned from farming. The interior features recycled and salvaged materials that celebrate the barn’s history and agrarian heritage.
We also look forward to welcoming guests to our studio as part of the Pittsburgh city tour. Learn more about the conference below.
