Peace Arch Recognized with Honor Award at GSA Design Awards

BCJ’s design for the Peace Arch U.S. Port of Entry in Washington has been recognized with an Honor Award.

The design was recognized at the 2014 U.S. General Services Administration Design Excellence Awards Ceremony. The bi-annual awards program celebrates design excellence and creativity in federal projects led by architects, engineers, urban and interior designers, and preservationists.

The LEED Gold Certified Peace Arch U.S. Port of Entry is designed as a gateway to the nation, stretching across the highway connecting the cities of Seattle and Vancouver while preserving the character of its scenic roadway and landscape, while accommodating 8,200 square meters of new construction. This award marks the project’s second recognition by the U.S. General Services Administration in addition to four other honors, including Merit Awards by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Washington and AIA Northwest and Pacific Region.
