Gallatin Residence Featured in The Local Project House Tour

In a video tour of the Hudson Valley home, Principal Daniel Lee, AIA shared the design inspiration for a dwelling that is “honest, humble, and deeply connected to its landscape.”

Located on 100 acres of former farmland in the upper Hudson Valley, Gallatin Residence is a place of respite for our client, who had owned the land for more than a decade before approaching our practice to design a home there. As Lee shares in the video, the scale of the home “feels simultaneously grand and intimate,” particularly in the upper level pavilion, which floats above the surrounding landscape. Tucked into a knoll in the middle of the property, glimpses of the home appear gradually, “rising from the meadow with quiet restraint.” Watch the full video from The Local Project below.
