Bohlin Cywinski Jackson Announces New Sustainability Action Plan

A new action plan advances our firmwide commitment to sustainability and will serve as a guide to bring more accountability, measurement, and collaboration to our practice.

"We are deeply committed to advancing sustainability at BCJ, and this action plan will guide us in embedding a more intentional and strategic approach to sustainability across everything we do."
Daniel Lee, AIA, LEED AP, Principal

We are excited to announce a new Sustainability Action Plan for our firm, building upon our prior action plan and informed by extensive dialogue across each of our studios. Co-authored by our Sustainability Director Margaret Sledge, AIA, LEED AP BD+C and Senior Associate Allen Kachel, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, the action plan organizes strategic goals by Design & Process, Knowledge, Accountability, Measurement, and Operations.

Sustainability has been an integral part of our practice since its inception. Our design process is rooted in the belief that exceptional architecture enhances the health and wellness of its occupants and surroundings, creating a pride of ownership that ultimately becomes the methodology for lasting sustainability. This new action plan serves as a guide to advancing our processes firmwide so that we continue to operate at the forefront of healthy, resilient, and high-performance design. This includes evolving how we establish goals, collaborate and share knowledge, track metrics, measure outcomes, and communicate the value of our work. A living document, the action plan will be evaluated and updated every five years. You can read the action plan at the link below.
