ASU names film school after trailblazing actor and filmmaker Sidney Poitier

On January 25, 2021, Arizona State University announced The New American Film School in the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts would be named after groundbreaking industry icon Sidney Poitier in a virtual celebration. Bohlin Cywinski Jackson and Holly Street Studio are collaborating on the design of ASU @ Mesa City Center, which will house programs related to the Sidney Poitier New American Film School and Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts.
