Celebrating the Opening of Auteur Russian River’s Tasting Room
Embracing the stunning natural setting of Healdsburg’s forested hillsides, a new tasting room for Auteur reflects the renowned Sonoma winery’s commitment to experimentation and creativity.
Highbank Residence Receives RDAA Honor Award
The RDAA jury highlighted the “sophistication of the plan” and movement through the site, from a restored meadow of prairie grasses to the dramatic reveal of sweeping lake views from the main living area.
Carnegie Mellon University, Highmark Center for Health, Wellness and Athletics, and Liten Hytte Honored with AIA Pittsburgh Design Awards
The hub of a campus network for student wellbeing, the LEED Gold Highmark Center received an honorable mention in the Excellence in Masonry category and a merit award from AIA Pittsburgh and was also recognized with a Placemaking Award by the Urban Land Institute. An Honor Award winner in the small projects category, Liten Hytte was praised by the jury for its “nice composition and balanced dichotomy between rough plywood, corrugated metal, and highly finished interior volumes.” Liten Hytte was also featured in a Dwell+ article in the fall.
The University of Florida, Malachowsky Hall Featured in The Plan
In a feature story for The Plan, Michael Webb discusses how the 265,000 square-foot, LEED Platinum project enhances surrounding campus context, responds to the desire for both openness and privacy, and achieves ambitious sustainability goals.
Rosa O. Valdes STEM + Innovation Center Featured in Texas Architect
In Texas Architect’s spring issue, Michael Malone, FAIA, writes about the process of creating an open and flexible STEM building that empowers students to collaborate and problem-solve in new ways. The project’s sustainable design and use of mass-timber was later recognized with a Wood Design & Building Award, celebrating excellence in wood architecture and construction.
Gallatin Residence and Flats on Forward Receive AIA Pennsylvania Awards
Gallatin Residence, a weekend home in the upper Hudson Valley with a strong connection to the surrounding landscape, received a Silver Medal, the top honor in AIA PA’s annual design awards. Flats on Forward, a mixed-use and affordable housing development, was recognized for the creative use of brick on its façade, which contributed to “a striking and elegant” building.
