The monolithic limestone façade along Michigan Avenue holds a single large second-story window in the form of the Apple logo. This is the only signage along the street and provides a distinctive silhouette that at night projects a welcoming glow from the store, and with daylight offers an inviting glimpse of the glass stair, bridge and skylight beyond. The store's stepped-back volume includes a planted vegetated roof surrounding a strip skylight, in support of Chicago's continuing efforts to lead the green roof movement within the United States.
