Located near the busy Pudong district in Shanghai, the Apple Store sits in a large urban plaza below a new circular sunken court. Its entrance is marked by a large glass cylinder, thirty-two feet high. The plaza's monumental stone staircase is set on axis with the Pearl Tower and connects the street and lower levels. To reach the store from the plaza level, visitors travel over a shallow reflecting pool to a transparent, cylindrical entry. They then descend to the store below the plaza on a spiral glass staircase.
