March 11, 2008

Building Stone Institute, one of the country's longest serving natural stone trade associations, announced the recipients of the Tucker Design Award for 2008 on February 25, 2008. Bohlin Cywinski Jackson has been honored with two of this year's nine awards, one for the Ridge House in rural Canada and the second for the Seattle City Hall, a joint venture with Bassetti Architects.

Established in 1977, the Tucker Design Award honors those who achieve the criteria of excellence in the use of natural stone in concept, design, and construction. The award is a prestigious biennial architectural design award recognized in both the building and landscape industries.

"This year's recipients represent some of the finest building and landscape projects throughout North America utilizing natural stone," said Margie Lechowicz, Executive Vice President of Building Stone Institute. "Tucker Design Awards celebrate the innovation and vision that designers bring to their projects by specifying and using natural stone building materials." Awards will be presented Friday, May 9 at the Tucker Design Awards ceremony in Dallas, TX.
