February 14, 2006, Wyoming

In September 2005, construction began on the new 23,000 square foot visitor center for Grand Teton National Park. Located in the village of Moose at the southern entrance to the park, the new center will provide a rich educational experience for the park visitor. Special program elements include interpretive exhibits designed by Ralph Appelbaum Associates, expanded National Park Service amenities including a backcountry permit station, an art gallery and a Natural History Association bookstore. Construction is currently scheduled for completion in the spring of 2007.
